reel breakdown

where the wild things are

I was Head of Nuke on “where the wild things are”, i was in charge of the character “bull”, the only character that was all made in 2d, i did lots of the other characters too with the 3d setup, i finalled 50+ shots in the 7 months at framestore.

bull facial treatment

where the wild things are

ane of the few shots where bull is talking, i got a animation reference from a animator that i matched. in this and most of the shots i replaced his eyes with 3d ones, pulled in the teeth and animated warps for talking, breathing and facial expressions

in this shot imade a hdr from a image sequence of the bullet so i would have lots of color information to grade it orange to get the hot feeling. and made a transition between 2 sequences, added smoke element

this is a greenscreen shot, roof and rear view mirror is cg, bg is built from 5 cameras projected on a sphere, parts of the projection aiming backwards was missing so i had to reconstruct portions of the street and houses. i also fixed a part where mary louise parker looked in to the camera.

wire removal in front of the securityguards, i removed a big plexi-glass plate behind her and had to rebuild the strangled guys back and the fence. cg handcuffs
