I was Head of Nuke on “where the wild things are”, i was in charge of the character “bull”, the only character that was all made in 2d, i did lots of the other characters too with the 3d setup, i finalled 50+ shots in the 7 months at framestore.

ane of the few shots where bull is talking, i got a animation reference from a animator that i matched. in this and most of the shots i replaced his eyes with 3d ones, pulled in the teeth and animated warps for talking, breathing and facial expressions

i was lead on this show the last month or so of the project (the first lead had a baby and went on paternity leave).
bg replacement, i kept film crew trucks, removed the logos on the sides, added 2d airplanes, cg helicopter, cg control tower to the left. whole shot retimed with nonlinear curve (lots of retime artifact cleanup)

in this shot imade a hdr from a image sequence of the bullet so i would have lots of color information to grade it orange to get the hot feeling. and made a transition between 2 sequences, added smoke element

this is a greenscreen shot, roof and rear view mirror is cg, bg is built from 5 cameras projected on a sphere, parts of the projection aiming backwards was missing so i had to reconstruct portions of the street and houses. i also fixed a part where mary louise parker looked in to the camera.

3 plates, stationary spinning police car, bruce in front of greenscreen, and bg. police car was 3d tracked and projected on geometry to be able to get the car slide away from the camera properly, door and tires animated in 3d (nuke), puddles created to mach previous shot, wasnt allowed to grade bruce’s face at all

attack the block
i was lead compositor on this show, i made a 2d fur setup and did lookdev for cg fur and cg teeth, 90 shots delivered, happy client!
